But they have no knowledge thereof. They follow but a guess, and verily, guess is no substitute for the truth.

which, to them, is the only thing worth knowing. Behold, thy Sustainer is fully aware as to who has strayed from His path, and fully aware is He as to who follows His guidance.

حالانکہ ان کو اس کی کچھ خبر نہیں۔ وہ صرف ظن پر چلتے ہیں۔ اور ظن یقین کے مقابلے میں کچھ کام نہیں آتا

والحال أنه ليس لهم بذلك علم، لا عن الله، ولا عن رسوله، ولا دلت على ذلك الفطر والعقول، بل العلم كله دال على نقيض قولهم، وأن الله منزه عن الأولاد والصاحبة، لأنه الواحد الأحد، الفرد الصمد، الذي لم يلد ولم يولد، ولم يكن له كفوا أحد، وأن الملائكة كرام مقربون إلى الله، قائمون بخدمته { لَا يَعْصُونَ اللَّهَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ } والمشركون إنما يتبعون في ذلك القول القبيح، وهو الظن الذي لا يغني من الحق شيئا، فإن الحق لا بد فيه من اليقين المستفاد من الأدلة القاطعة والبراهين الساطعة.

إن الذين لا يصدِّقون بالحياة الآخرة من كفار العرب ولا يعملون لها ليسمُّون الملائكة تسمية الإناث؛ لاعتقادهم جهلا أن الملائكة إناث، وأنهم بنات الله. وما لهم بذلك من علم صحيح يصدِّق ما قالوه، ما يتبعون إلا الظن الذي لا يجدي شيئًا، ولا يقوم أبدًا مقام الحق.

أي ليس لهم علم صحيح بصدق ما قالوه بل هو كذب وزور وافتراء وكفر شنيع "إن يتبعون إلا الظن وإن الظن لا يغني من الحق شيئا" أي لا يجدي شيئا ولا يقوم أبدا مقام الحق. وقد ثبت في الصحيح أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال "إياكم والظن فإن الظن أكذب الحديث".

Refuting the Claim of the Idolators that the Angels are Allah's Daughters Allah the Exalted admonishes the idolators for calling the angels female names and claiming that they are Allah's daughters. Allah is far removed from what they ascribe to Him. Allah the Exalted said in another Ayah, وَجَعَلُواْ الْمَلَـئِكَةَ الَّذِينَ هُمْ عِبَادُ الرَّحْمَـنِ إِنَـثاً أَشَهِدُواْ خَلْقَهُمْ سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَـدَتُهُمْ وَيُسْـَلُونَ (And they make females the angels, who themselves are servants of the Most Gracious. Did they witness their creation Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned!)(43:19) Allah's statement here, وَمَا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ (But they have no knowledge thereof.) meaning, they have no correct knowledge testifying to their statements. What they say is all lies, falsehood, fake and utter atheism, إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلاَّ الظَّنَّ وَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ لاَ يُغْنِى مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئاً (They follow but conjecture, and verily, conjecture is no substitute for the truth.) meaning, conjecture is of no benefit and never takes the place of truth. In a Hadith recorded in the Sahih, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, «إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ، فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيث» (Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the most lying speech.) The Necessity of turning away from the People of Misguidance Allah's statement, فَأَعْرِضْ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّى عَن ذِكْرِنَا (Therefore withdraw from him who turns away from Our Reminder), means, stay away from those who turn away from the Truth and shun them, وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلاَّ الْحَيَوةَ الدُّنْيَا (and desires nothing but the life of this world.) meaning, whose aim and knowledge are concentrated on this life; this is the goal of those who have no goodness in them, ذَلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُمْ مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ (That is what they could reach of knowledge.) meaning, seeking this life and striving hard in its affairs is the best knowledge they have acquired. There is also the reported supplication: «اللْهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا أَكْبَرَ هَمِّنَا، وَلَا مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِنَا» (O Allah! Make not this life the greatest of our concerns nor the best knowledge that we can attain.) Allah's statement, إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اهْتَدَى (Verily, your Lord is He, Who knows best him who goes astray from His path, and He knows best him who receives guidance.) meaning, He is the Creator of all creatures and He knows whatever benefits His servants. Allah is the One Who guides whom He wills and misguides whom He wills, and all of this indicates His power, knowledge and wisdom. Certainly, He is Just and never legislates or decrees unjustly.

آخرت کا گھر اور دنیا اللہ تعالیٰ مشرکین کے اس قول کی تردید فرماتا ہے کہ اللہ کے فرشتے اس کی لڑکیاں ہیں۔ جیسے اور جگہ ہے آیت (وَجَعَلُوا الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةَ الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ عِبٰدُ الرَّحْمٰنِ اِنَاثًا ۭاَشَهِدُوْا خَلْقَهُمْ ۭ سَـتُكْتَبُ شَهَادَتُهُمْ وَيُسْــَٔــلُوْنَ 19؀) 43۔ الزخرف :19) ، یعنی اللہ کے مقبول بندوں اور فرشتوں کو انہوں نے اللہ کی لڑکیاں ٹھہرا دیا ہے کیا ان کی پیدائش کے وقت یہ موجود تھے ؟ ان کی شہادت لکھی جائے گی اور ان سے پرستش کی جائے گی یہاں بھی فرمایا کہ یہ لوگ فرشتوں کے زنانہ نام رکھتے ہیں جو ان کی بےعلمی کا نتیجہ ہے محض جھوٹ کھلا بہتان بلکہ صریح شرک ہے یہ صرف ان کی اٹکل ہے اور یہ ظاہر ہے کہ اٹکل پچو کی باتیں حق کے قائم مقام نہیں ہوسکتیں۔ حدیث شریف میں ہے گمان سے بچو گمان بدترین جھوٹ ہے پھر اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے نبی ﷺ سے فرماتا ہے کہ حق سے اعراض کرنے والوں سے آپ بھی اعراض کرلیں ان کا مطمع نظر صرف دنیا کی زندگی ہے اور جس کی غایت یہ سفلی دنیا ہو اس کا انجام کبھی نیک نہیں ہوتا ان کے علم کی غایت بھی یہی ہے کہ دنیا طلبی اور کوشش دنیا میں ہر وقت منہمک رہیں۔ حضور ﷺ فرماتے ہیں دنیا اس کا گھر ہے جس کا (آخرت میں) گھر نہ ہو اور دنیا اس کا مال ہے جس کا مال (آخرت میں) کنگال نہ ہو، ایک منقول دعا میں حضور ﷺ کے یہ الفاظ بھی آئے ہیں (اللھم لا تجعل الدنیا اکبر ھمنا ولا مبلغ علمنا) پروردگار تو ہماری اہم تر کوشش اور مطمع نظر اور مقصد معلومات صرف دنیا ہی کو نہ کر۔ پھر فرماتا ہے کہ جمیع مخلوقات کا خالق صرف اللہ تعالیٰ ہی ہے اپنے بندوں کی مصلحتوں سے صحیح طور پر وہی واقف ہے جسے چاہے ہدایت دے جسے چاہے ضلالت دے سب کچھ اس کی قدرت علم اور حکمت سے ہو رہا ہے وہ عادل ہے اپنی شریعت میں اور انداز مقرر کرنے میں ظلم و بےانصافی نہیں کرتا۔
