Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

بکھیرنے والیوں کی قسم جو اُڑا کر بکھیر دیتی ہیں

The Noble Quran

By (the winds) that scatter dust.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

پھر (پانی کا) بوجھ اٹھاتی ہیں

The Noble Quran

And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

پھر آہستہ آہستہ چلتی ہیں

The Noble Quran

And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness.

پھر چیزیں تقسیم کرتی ہیں

The Noble Quran

And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allâh’s) Command.

کہ جس چیز کا تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے وہ سچا ہے

The Noble Quran

Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds) is surely true.

اور انصاف (کا دن) ضرور واقع ہوگا

The Noble Quran

And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen.

اور آسمان کی قسم جس میں رسے ہیں

The Noble Quran

By the heaven full of paths,

کہ (اے اہل مکہ) تم ایک متناقض بات میں (پڑے ہوئے) ہو

The Noble Quran

Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and the Qur’ân).

اس سے وہی پھرتا ہے جو (خدا کی طرف سے) پھیرا جائے

The Noble Quran

Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and the Qur’ân) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment القضاء والقدر of Allâh).

اٹکل دوڑانے والے ہلاک ہوں

Cursed be the liars

جو بےخبری میں بھولے ہوئے ہیں

The Noble Quran

Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter),

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

پوچھتے ہیں کہ جزا کا دن کب ہوگا؟

The Noble Quran

They ask: "When will be the Day of Recompense?"

اُس دن (ہوگا) جب ان کو آگ میں عذاب دیا جائے گا

The Noble Quran

(It will be) a Day when they will be tried (punished i.e. burnt) over the Fire!

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اب اپنی شرارت کا مزہ چکھو۔ یہ وہی ہے جس کے لئے تم جلدی مچایا کرتے تھے

The Noble Quran

"Taste you your trial (punishment i.e. burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!"

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

بےشک پرہیزگار بہشتوں اور چشموں میں (عیش کر رہے) ہوں گے

The Noble Quran

Verily, the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise),

اور) جو جو (نعمتیں) ان کا پروردگار انہیں دیتا ہوگا ان کو لے رہے ہوں گے۔ بےشک وہ اس سے پہلے نیکیاں کرتے تھے

The Noble Quran

Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinûn (good-doers. See V.2:112).

رات کے تھوڑے سے حصے میں سوتے تھے

The Noble Quran

They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allâh) and praying, with fear and hope].

اور اوقات سحر میں بخشش مانگا کرتے تھے

The Noble Quran

And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allâh) for forgiveness.

اور ان کے مال میں مانگنے والے اور نہ مانگنے والے (دونوں) کا حق ہوتا تھا

The Noble Quran

And in their properties there was the right of the Sâ’il (the beggar who asks) and the Mahrûm (the poor who does not ask others)<sup foot_note=154929>1</sup>.

اور یقین کرنے والوں کے لئے زمین میں (بہت سی) نشانیاں ہیں

The Noble Quran

And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty.

اور خود تمہارے نفوس میں تو کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں؟

The Noble Quran

And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see?

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور تمہارا رزق اور جس چیز کا تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے آسمان میں ہے

The Noble Quran

And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

تو آسمانوں اور زمین کے مالک کی قسم! یہ (اسی طرح) قابل یقین ہے جس طرح تم بات کرتے ہو

The Noble Quran

Then by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak.

بھلا تمہارے پاس ابراہیمؑ کے معزز مہمانوں کی خبر پہنچی ہے؟

The Noble Quran

Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrîl (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrâhîm (Abraham)?

جب وہ ان کے پاس آئے تو سلام کہا۔ انہوں نے بھی (جواب میں) سلام کہا (دیکھا تو) ایسے لوگ کہ نہ جان نہ پہچان

The Noble Quran

When they came in to him and said: "Salâm, (peace be upon you)!" He answered: "Salâm, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me."

تو اپنے گھر جا کر ایک (بھنا ہوا) موٹا بچھڑا لائے

The Noble Quran

Then he turned to his household, and brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrâhîm (Abraham) was mainly cows].

(اور کھانے کے لئے) ان کے آگے رکھ دیا۔ کہنے لگے کہ آپ تناول کیوں نہیں کرتے؟

The Noble Quran

And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?"

اور دل میں ان سے خوف معلوم کیا۔ (انہوں نے) کہا کہ خوف نہ کیجیئے۔ اور ان کو ایک دانشمند لڑکے کی بشارت بھی سنائی

The Noble Quran

Then he conceived fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not."<sup foot_note=154930>1</sup> And they gave him glad tidings of a son having knowledge (about Allâh and His religion of True Monotheism).

تو ابراہیمؑ کی بیوی چلاّتی آئی اور اپنا منہ پیٹ کر کہنے لگی کہ (اے ہے ایک تو) بڑھیا اور (دوسرے) بانجھ

The Noble Quran

Then his wife came forward with a loud voice: she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!"<sup foot_note=154931>1</sup>

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

(انہوں نے) کہا (ہاں) تمہارے پروردگار نے یوں ہی فرمایا ہے۔ وہ بےشک صاحبِ حکمت (اور) خبردار ہے

The Noble Quran

They said: "Even so says your Lord.<sup foot_note=154932>1</sup> Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower."

ابراہیمؑ نے کہا کہ فرشتو! تمہارا مدعا کیا ہے؟

The Noble Quran

[Ibrâhîm (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?"

انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم گنہگار لوگوں کی طرف بھیجے گئے ہیں

The Noble Quran

They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimûn (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allâh)

تاکہ ان پر کھنگر برسائیں

The Noble Quran

To send down upon them stones of baked clay.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

جن پر حد سے بڑھ جانے والوں کے لئے تمہارے پروردگار کے ہاں سے نشان کردیئے گئے ہیں

The Noble Quran

Marked by your Lord for the Musrifûn (polytheists, criminals, sinners - those who trespass Allâh’s set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins).

تو وہاں جتنے مومن تھے ان کو ہم نے نکال لیا

The Noble Quran

So We brought out from therein the believers.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور اس میں ایک گھر کے سوا مسلمانوں کا کوئی گھر نہ پایا

The Noble Quran

But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [of Lût (Lot) and his two daughters].

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور جو لوگ عذاب الیم سے ڈرتے ہیں ان کے لئے وہاں نشانی چھوڑ دی

The Noble Quran

And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea<sup foot_note=154933>1</sup> in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment.

اور موسیٰ (کے حال) میں (بھی نشانی ہے) جب ہم نے ان کو فرعون کی طرف کھلا ہوا معجزہ دے کر بھیجا

The Noble Quran

And in Mûsâ (Moses) (too, there is a sign), when We sent him to Fir‘aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority.

تو اس نے اپنی جماعت (کے گھمنڈ) پر منہ موڑ لیا اور کہنے لگا یہ تو جادوگر ہے یا دیوانہ

The Noble Quran

But [Fir‘aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman."

تو ہم نے اس کو اور اس کے لشکروں کو پکڑ لیا اور ان کو دریا میں پھینک دیا اور وہ کام ہی قابل ملامت کرتا تھا

The Noble Quran

So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, for he was blameworthy.

اور عاد (کی قوم کے حال) میں بھی (نشانی ہے) جب ہم نے ان پر نامبارک ہوا چلائی

The Noble Quran

And in ‘Âd (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind;

وہ جس چیز پر چلتی اس کو ریزہ ریزہ کئے بغیر نہ چھوڑتی

The Noble Quran

It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور (قوم) ثمود (کے حال) میں (نشانی ہے) جب ان سے کہا گیا کہ ایک وقت تک فائدہ اٹھالو

The Noble Quran

And in Thamûd (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!"

تو انہوں نے اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے سرکشی کی۔ سو ان کو کڑک نے آ پکڑا اور وہ دیکھ رہے تھے

The Noble Quran

But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sâ‘iqah<sup foot_note=154934>1</sup> overtook them while they were looking.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

پھر وہ نہ تو اُٹھنے کی طاقت رکھتے تھے اور نہ مقابلہ ہی کرسکتے تھے

The Noble Quran

Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور اس سے پہلے (ہم) نوح کی قوم کو (ہلاک کرچکے تھے) بےشک وہ نافرمان لوگ تھے

The Noble Quran

(So were) the people of Nûh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).

اور آسمانوں کو ہم ہی نے ہاتھوں سے بنایا اور ہم کو سب مقدور ہے

The Noble Quran

With power did We construct the heaven. Verily, We are Able to extend the vastness of space thereof.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور زمین کو ہم ہی نے بچھایا تو (دیکھو) ہم کیا خوب بچھانے والے ہیں

The Noble Quran

And We have spread out the earth: how Excellent Spreader (thereof) are We!

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور ہر چیز کی ہم نے دو قسمیں بنائیں تاکہ تم نصیحت پکڑو

The Noble Quran

And of everything We have created pairs, that you may remember (the Grace of Allâh).

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

تو تم لوگ خدا کی طرف بھاگ چلو میں اس کی طرف سے تم کو صریح رستہ بتانے والا ہوں

The Noble Quran

So flee to Allâh (from His Torment to His Mercy - Islâmic Monotheism). Verily, I (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) am a plain warner to you from Him.<sup foot_note=154935>1</sup>

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور خدا کے ساتھ کسی اَور کو معبود نہ بناؤ۔ میں اس کی طرف سے تم کو صریح رستہ بتانے والا ہوں

The Noble Quran

And set not up (or worship not) any other ilâh (god) along with Allâh [Glorified be He (Alone), Exalted above all that they associate as partners with Him]. Verily, I (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) am a plain warner to you from Him.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اسی طرح ان سے پہلے لوگوں کے پاس جو پیغمبر آتا وہ اس کو جادوگر یا دیوانہ کہتے

The Noble Quran

Likewise, no Messenger came to those before them but they said: "A sorcerer or a madman!"

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

کیا یہ کہ ایک دوسرے کو اسی بات کی وصیت کرتے آئے ہیں بلکہ یہ شریر لوگ ہیں

The Noble Quran

Have they (the people of the past) transmitted this saying to these (Quraish pagans)? Nay, they are themselves a people transgressing beyond bounds (in disbelief)!

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

تو ان سے اعراض کرو۔ تم کو (ہماری) طرف سے ملامت نہ ہوگی

The Noble Quran

So turn away (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) from them (Quraish pagans), you are not blame-worthy (as you have conveyed Allâh’s Message).

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور نصیحت کرتے رہو کہ نصیحت مومنوں کو نفع دیتی ہے

The Noble Quran

And remind (by preaching the Qur’ân, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), for verily, the reminding profits the believers.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

اور میں نے جنوں اور انسانوں کو اس لئے پیدا کیا ہے کہ میری عبادت کریں

The Noble Quran

And I (Allâh) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone).

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

میں ان سے طالب رزق نہیں اور نہ یہ چاہتا ہوں کہ مجھے (کھانا) کھلائیں

The Noble Quran

I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures).

خدا ہی تو رزق دینے والا زور آور اور مضبوط ہے

The Noble Quran

Verily, Allâh is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong.

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

کچھ شک نہیں کہ ان ظالموں کے لئے بھی (عذاب کی) نوبت مقرر ہے جس طرح ان کے ساتھیوں کی نوبت تھی تو ان کو مجھ سے (عذاب) جلدی نہیں طلب کرنا چاہیئے

The Noble Quran

And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a portion of torment like to the evil portion of torment (which came for) their likes (of old); so let them not ask Me to hasten on!

Fatah Muhammad Jalandhari

جس دن کا ان کافروں سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے اس سے ان کے لئے خرابی ہے

The Noble Quran

Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Allâh and His Oneness - Islâmic Monotheism) from their Day which they have been promised (for their punishment).<sup foot_note=154936>1</sup>
