Ayah Study

And gave them clear proofs in matters [by revealing to them the Taurât (Torah)]. And they differed not until after the knowledge came to them, through envy among themselves. Verily, Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they used to differ.

AND, INDEED, [already] unto the children of Israel did We vouchsafe revelation, and wisdom, and prophethood; and We provided for them sustenance out of the good things of life, and favoured them above all other people [of their time].

اور ان کو دین کے بارے میں دلیلیں عطا کیں۔ تو انہوں نے جو اختلاف کیا تو علم آچکنے کے بعد آپس کی ضد سے کیا۔ بےشک تمہارا پروردگار قیامت کے دن ان میں ان باتوں کا جن میں وہ اختلاف کرتے تھے فیصلہ کرے گا

{ وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ } أي: آتينا بني إسرائيل { بَيِّنَاتٍ } أي: دلالات تبين الحق من الباطل { مِنَ الْأَمْرِ } القدري الذي أوصله الله إليهم. وتلك الآيات هي المعجزات التي رأوها على يد موسى عليه السلام، فهذه النعم التي أنعم الله بها على بني إسرائيل تقتضي الحال أن يقوموا بها على أكمل الوجوه وأن يجتمعوا على الحق الذي بينه الله لهم، ولكن انعكس الأمر فعاملوها بعكس ما يجب. وافترقوا فيما أمروا بالاجتماع به ولهذا قال: { فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوا إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ } أي: الموجب لعدم الاختلاف، وإنما حملهم على الاختلاف البغي من بعضهم على بعض والظلم. { إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ } فيميز المحق من المبطل والذي حمله على الاختلاف الهوى أو غيره.

وآتينا بني إسرائيل شرائع واضحات في الحلال والحرام، ودلالات تبين الحق من الباطل، فما اختلفوا إلا من بعد ما جاءهم العلم، وقامت الحجة عليهم، وإنما حَمَلهم على ذلك بَغْيُ بعضهم على بعض؛ طلبًا للرفعة والرئاسة، إن ربك -أيها الرسول- يحكم بين المختلفين من بني إسرائيل يوم القيامة فيما كانوا فيه يختلفون في الدنيا. وفي هذا تحذير لهذه الأمة أن تسلك مسلكهم.

وآتيناهم بينات من الأمر أي حججا وبراهين وأدلة قاطعات فقامت عليهم الحجج ثم اختلفوا بعد ذلك من بعد قيام الحجة وإنما كان ذلك بغيا منهم على بعضهم بعضا إن ربك يا محمد يقضي بينهم يوم القيامة فيما كانوا فيه يختلفون أي سيفصل بينهم بحكمه العدل وهذا فيه تحذير لهذه الأمة أن تسلك مسلكهم وأن تقصد منهجهم.

Preference of Allah to the Children of Israel and their dispute thereafter Allah the Exalted mentions the favors He granted the Children of Israel, such as revealing the Divine Books to them, sending the Messengers to them and granting them kingship. Allah said, وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا بَنِى إِسْرَءِيلَ الْكِتَـبَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَـهُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَـتِ (And indeed We gave the Children of Israel the Scripture, and the understanding of the Scripture and its laws, and the prophethood; and provided them with good things,) such as foods and drinks, وَفَضَّلْنَـهُمْ عَلَى الْعَـلَمينَ (and preferred them above the nations.) of their time, وَءاتَيْنَـهُم بَيِّنَـتٍ مِّنَ الاٌّمْرِ (And gave them clear proofs in matters.) `We gave them evidences, proofs and unequivocal signs.' Therefore, the proof has been established against them, yet they differed among themselves after the proof came to them, out of transgression against each other, إِنَّ رَبَّكَ (Verily, your Lord) `O Muhammad', يَقْضِى بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَـمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ (will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they used to differ. ) He will judge between them by His just judgement. Warning to this Ummah against following the Ways of the Children of Israel This Ayah contains a warning to the Muslim Ummah as well. It warns them not to take the path the Jews took nor adopt their ways. This is why Allah said, ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـكَ عَلَى شَرِيعَةٍ مِّنَ الاٌّمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهَا (Then We have put you on a (legal) way of commandment. So follow you that.) `follow what was revealed to you from your Lord, O Muhammad, there is no true deity except Him, and turn away from the idolators.' Allah said, وَلاَ تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَإِنَّهُمْ لَن يُغْنُواْ عَنكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئاً وَإِنَّ الظَّـلِمِينَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ (and follow not the desires of those who know not. Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allah. Verily, the wrongdoers are protecting friends of one another,) Allah says, `what will the loyalty that the idolators give each other avail them' Indeed, all they will earn from their protecting friends is more loss, destruction and demise, وَاللَّهُ وَلِىُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ (but Allah is the Protector of those who have Taqwa.) and He will deliver them from the darkness to the light. In contrast, all the false deities are the protecting friends of those who disbelieve, taking them out of the light to the darkness. Allah said, هَـذَا بَصَـئِرُ لِلنَّاسِ (This is a clear insight and evidence for man- kind,) in reference to the Qur'an, وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ (and a guidance and a mercy for people who have faith with certainty.)

بنی اسرائیل اللہ تعالیٰ کے خصوصی انعامات کا تذکرہ بنی اسرائیل پر جو نعمتیں رحیم و کریم اللہ نے انعام فرمائی تھیں ان کا ذکر فرما رہا ہے کہ کتابیں ان پر اتاریں رسول ان میں بھیجے حکومت انہیں دی۔ بہترین غذائیں اور ستھری صاف چیزیں انہیں عطا فرمائیں اور اس زمانے کے اور لوگوں پر انہیں برتری دی اور انہیں امر دین کی عمدہ اور کھلی ہوئی دلیلیں پہنچا دیں اور ان پر حجت اللہ قائم ہوگئی۔ پھر ان لوگوں نے پھوٹ ڈالی اور مختلف گروہ بن گئے اور اس کا باعث بجز نفسانیت اور خودی کے اور کچھ نہ تھا اے نبی تیرا رب ان کے ان اختلافات کا فیصلہ قیامت کے دن خود ہی کر دے گا اس میں اس امت کو چوکنا کیا گیا ہے کہ خبردار تم ان جیسے نہ ہونا ان کی چال نہ چلنا اسی لئے اللہ جل و علا نے فرمایا کہ تو اپنے رب کی وحی کا تابعدار بنا رہ مشرکوں سے کوئی مطلب نہ رکھ بےعلموں کی ریس نہ کر یہ تجھے اللہ کے ہاں کیا کام آئیں گے ؟ ان کی دوستیاں تو ان میں آپس میں ہی ہیں یہ تو اپنے ملنے والوں کو نقصان ہی پہنچایا کرتے ہیں۔ پرہیزگاروں کا ولی و ناصر رفیق و کار ساز پروردگار عالم ہے جو انہیں اندھیروں سے ہٹا کر نور کی طرف لے جاتا ہے اور کافروں کے دوست شیاطین ہیں جو انہیں روشنی سے ہٹا کر اندھیریوں میں جھونکتے ہیں یہ قرآن ان لوگوں کے لئے جو یقین رکھتے ہیں دلائل کے ساتھ ہی ہدایت و رحمت ہے۔
