Ayah Study

Those who believe [in the Oneness of Allâh (Monotheism) and in Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم , and do not give up their faith because of the harm they receive from the polytheists], and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall expiate from them their evil deeds and shall reward them according to the best of that which they used to do.<sup foot_note=154774>1</sup>

And as for those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds, We shall most certainly efface their [previous] bad deeds, and shall most certainly reward them in accordance with the best that they ever did.

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے ہم ان کے گناہوں کو اُن سے دور کردیں گے اور ان کو ان کے اعمال کا بہت اچھا بدلہ دیں گے

يعني أن الذين منَّ اللّه عليهم بالإيمان والعمل الصالح، سيكفر اللّه عنهم سيئاتهم، لأن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات، { وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ } وهي أعمال الخير، من واجبات ومستحبات، فهي أحسن ما يعمل العبد، لأنه يعمل المباحات أيضا، وغيرها.

والذين صدَّقوا الله ورسوله، وعملوا الصالحات لنمحونَّ عنهم خطيئاتهم، ولنثيبنَّهم على أعمالهم الصالحة أحسن ما كانوا يعملون.

ثم أخبر تعالى أنه مع غناه عن الخلائق جميعهم ومع بره وإحسانه بهم يجازي الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات أحسن الجزاء وهو أنه يكفر عنهم أسوأ الذين عملوا ويجزيهم أجرهم بأحسن الذي كانوا يعملون فيقبل القليل من الحسنات ويثيب عليها الواحدة بعشر أمثالها إلى سبعمائة ضعف ويجزي على السيئة بمثلها أو يعفو ويصفح كما قال تعالى: "إن الله لا يظلم مثقال ذرة وإن تك حسنة يضاعفها ويؤت من لدنه أجرا عظيما" وقال ههنا: "والذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات لنكفرن عنه سيئاتهم ولنجزينهم أحسن الذي كانوا يعملون".

Allah will fulfill the Hopes of the Righteous Allah's saying; مَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَآءَ اللَّهِ (Whoever hopes in meeting with Allah,) means, in the Hereafter, and does righteous deeds, and hopes for a great reward with Allah, then Allah will fulfill his hopes and reward him for his deeds in full. This will undoubtedly come to pass, for He is the One Who hears all supplications, He knows and understands the needs of all created beings. Allah says: مَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَآءَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لآتٍ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ (Whoever hopes in meeting with Allah, then Allah's term is surely coming, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.) وَمَن جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَـهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ (And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself.) This is like the Ayah, مَّنْ عَمِلَ صَـلِحاً فَلِنَفْسِهِ (Whosoever does righteous good deed, it is for himself) (41:46). Whoever does a righteous deed, the benefit of that deed will come back to him, for Allah has no need of the deeds of His servants, and even if all of them were to be as pious as the most pious man among them, that would not add to His dominion in the slightest. Allah says: وَمَن جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَـهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِىٌّ عَنِ الْعَـلَمِينَ (And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself. Verily, Allah stands not in need of any of the creatures.) Then Allah tells us that even though He has no need of His creatures, He is kind and generous to them. He will still give to those who believe and do righteous deeds the best of rewards, which is that He will expiate for them their bad deeds, and will reward them according to the best deeds that they did. He will accept the fewest good deeds and in return for one good deed will give anything between ten rewards and seven hundred, but for every bad deed, He will give only one evil merit, or even that He may overlook and forgive. This is like the Ayah, إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَظْلِمُ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ وَإِن تَكُ حَسَنَةً يُضَـعِفْهَا وَيُؤْتِ مِن لَّدُنْهُ أَجْراً عَظِيماً (Surely, Allah wrongs not even the weight of a speck of dust, but if there is any good, He doubles it, and gives from Him a great reward.) (4:40). And He says here: وَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّـلِحَـتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِى كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ (Those who believe, and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall expiate from them their evil deeds and We shall indeed reward them according to the best of that which they used to do.)

نیکیوں کی کوشش جنہیں آخرت کے بدلوں کی امید ہے اور اسے سامنے رکھ کر وہ نیکیاں کرتے ہیں۔ ان کی امیدیں پوری ہونگی اور انہیں نہ ختم ہونے والے ثواب ملیں گے۔ اللہ دعاؤں کا سننے والا اور کل کائنات کا جاننے والا ہے اللہ کا ٹھہرایا ہوا وقت ٹلتا نہیں۔ پھر فرماتا ہے ہر نیک عمل کرنے والا اپنا ہی نفع کرتا ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ بندوں کے اعمال سے بےپرواہ ہے۔ اگر سارے انسان متقی بن جائیں تو اللہ کی سلطنت میں کوئی اضافہ نہیں ہوسکتا۔ حضرت حسن فرماتے ہیں جہاد تلوار چلانے کا ہی نام نہیں۔ انسان نیکیوں کی کوشش میں لگا ہے یہ بھی ایک طرح کا جہاد ہے۔ اس میں شک نہیں کہ تمہاری نیکیاں اللہ کے کسی کام نہیں آتیں لیکن بہر حال اس کی یہ مہربانی کہ وہ تمہیں نیکیوں پر بدلے دیتا ہے۔ انکی وجہ سے تمہاری برائیں معاف فرما دیتا ہے۔ چھوٹی سے چھوٹی نیکی کی قدر کرتا ہے اور اس پر بڑے سے بڑا اجر دیتا ہے ایک ایک نیکی کا سات سات سوگنا بدلہ عنایت فرماتا ہے اور بدی کو یا تو بالکل ہی معاف فرما دیتا ہے یا اسی کے برابر سزا دیتا ہے۔ وہ ظلم سے پاک ہے، گناہوں سے درگزر کرلیتا ہے اور ان کے اچھے اعمال کا بدل عطا فرماتا ہے۔
