Ayah Study

"O my father! Verily I fear lest a torment from the Most Gracious (Allâh) should overtake you, so that you become a companion of Shaitân (Satan) (in the Hell-fire)." [Tafsir Al-Qurtubî]

He answered: Dost thou dislike my gods, O Abraham? Indeed, if thou desist not, I shall most certainly cause thee to be stoned to death! Now begone from me for good!

ابّا مجھے ڈر لگتا ہے کہ آپ کو خدا کا عذاب آپکڑے تو آپ شیطان کے ساتھی ہوجائیں

{ يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ ْ} أي: بسبب إصرارك على الكفر، وتماديك في الطغيان { فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَانِ وَلِيًّا ْ} أي: في الدنيا والآخرة، فتنزل بمنازله الذميمة، وترتع في مراتعه الوخيمة، .فتدرج الخليل عليه السلام بدعوة أبيه، بالأسهل فالأسهل، فأخبره بعلمه، وأن ذلك موجب لاتباعك إياي، وأنك إن أطعتني، اهتديت إلى صراط مستقيم، ثم نهاه عن عبادة الشيطان، وأخبره بما فيها من المضار، ثم حذره عقاب الله ونقمته إن أقام على حاله، وأنه يكون وليا للشيطان،

يا أبت، إني أخاف أن تموت على كفرك، فيمَسَّك عذاب من الرحمن، فتكون للشيطان قرينًا في النار.

"يا أبت إني أخاف أن يمسك عذاب من الرحمن" أي على شركك وعصيانك لما آمرك به "فتكون للشيطان وليا" يعني فلا يكون لك مولى ولا ناصرا ولا مغيثا إلا إبليس وليس إليه ولا إلى غيره من الأمر شيء بل اتباعك له موجب لإحاطة العذاب بك كما قال تعالى "تالله لقد أرسلنا إلى أمم من قبلك فزين لهم الشيطان أعمالهم فهو وليهم اليوم ولهم عذاب أليم".

Ibrahim's Admonition of His Father Allah, the Exalted, tells His Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ, وَاذْكُرْ فِى الْكِتَـبِ إِبْرَهِيمَ (And mention in the Book, Ibrahim.) "Recite this to your people who are worshipping idols and mention to them what happened with Ibrahim, the intimate Friend (Khalil) of the Most Beneficent. These idol worshippers (Arabs) are his descendants and they claim to follow his religion. Inform them that he was a truthful Prophet. Tell them about what took place with his father and how he forbade him from worshipping idols." Ibrahim said, يأَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لاَ يَسْمَعُ وَلاَ يَبْصِرُ وَلاَ يُغْنِى عَنكَ شَيْئاً (O my father! Why do you worship that which hears not, sees not and cannot avail you in anything) Meaning that these idols will not benefit you, nor can they protect you from any harm. يأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ (O my father! Verily, there has come to me the knowledge of that which came not unto you.) This means, "Even though I am from your loins and you see me as inferior to you because I am your son, know that I have received knowledge from Allah that you do not know and it has not reached you." فَاتَّبِعْنِى أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطاً سَوِيّاً (So follow me, I will guide you to the straight path.) meaning, "a straight path that will carry you to the desired objective and save you from that which is dreaded (Hell)." يأَبَتِ لاَ تَعْبُدِ الشَّيْطَـنَ (O my father! Worship not Shaytan.) This is means, "Do not obey him by worshipping these idols. He invites to this (idolatry) and he is pleased with it." This is as Allah says, أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يبَنِى ءَادَمَ أَن لاَّ تَعْبُدُواْ الشَّيطَـنَ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ (Did I not command you, O Children of Adam, that you should not worship Shaytan. Verily, he is a plain enemy to you.) 36:60 Allah also says, إِن يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ إِلاَّ إِنَـثاً وَإِن يَدْعُونَ إِلاَّ شَيْطَـناً مَّرِيداً (They invoke nothing but females idols besides Him (Allah), and they invoke nothing but Shaytan, a persistent rebel!) 4:117 Concerning Allah's statement, إِنَّ الشَّيْطَـنَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَـنِ عَصِيّاً (Verily, Shaytan has been a rebel against the Most Gracious.) This means obstinate and too arrogant to obey his Lord. Therefore, Allah expelled him and made him an outcast. Therefore, "do not follow him or you will become like him. " يأَبَتِ إِنِّى أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَـنِ (O my father! Verily, I fear lest a torment from the Most Gracious should overtake you,) "because of your associating partners with Allah and your disobedience in what I am commanding you with." فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَـنِ وَلِيّاً (so that you become a companion of Shaytan.) This means, "there will be no one who will protect you, or help you, or assist you, except Iblis. However, neither he, nor anyone else, has any power over the outcome of matters. Following him will only cause you to be surrounded by the torment (of Allah)." This is as Allah says, تَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَى أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَـِّنُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ (By Allah, We indeed sent (Messengers) to the nations before you, but Shaytan made their deeds fair seeming to them. So he is their helper today (in this world), and theirs will be a painful torment.) 16:63

بتوں کی پوجا۔مشرکین مکہ جو بت پرست ہیں اور اپنے آپ کو خلیل اللہ کا متبع خیال کرتے ہیں ان کے سامنے اے نبی ﷺ خود حضرت ابراہیم ؑ کا واقعہ بیان کیجئے۔ اس سچے نبی نے اپنے باپ کی بھی پرواہ نہ کی اور اس کے سامنے بھی حق کو واضح کردیا اور اسے بت پرستی سے روکا۔ صاف کہا کہ کیوں ان بتوں کی پوجا پاٹ کر رہے ہوں جو نہ نفع پہنچا سکیں نہ ضرر۔ فرمایا کہ میں بیشک آپ کا بچہ ہوں لیکن اللہ کا علم جو میرے پاس ہے آپ کے پاس نہیں آپ میری اتباع کیجئے میں آپ کو راہ راست دکھاؤں گا برائیوں سے بچادوں گا۔ ابا جی یہ بت پرستی تو شیطان کی تابعداری ہے وہی اس کی راہ سمجھاتا ہے اور وہی اس سے خوش ہوتا ہے۔ جیسے سورة یاسین میں ہے (اَلَمْ اَعْهَدْ اِلَيْكُمْ يٰبَنِيْٓ اٰدَمَ اَنْ لَّا تَعْبُدُوا الشَّيْطٰنَ ۚ اِنَّهٗ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِيْنٌ 60؀ۙ) 36۔ يس :60) ، اللہ تعالیٰ فرمائے گا کہ اے انسانوں کیا میں نے تم سے عہد نہیں لیا تھا کہ شیطان کی عبادت نہ کرنا وہ تمہارا کھلا دشمن ہے اور آیت میں ہے (اِنْ يَّدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖٓ اِلَّآ اِنَاثًا ۚ وَاِنْ يَّدْعُوْنَ اِلَّا شَيْطٰنًا مَّرِيْدًا01107ۙ) 4۔ النسآء :117) ، یہ لوگ تو عورتوں کو پکارتے ہیں اور اللہ کو چھوڑتے ہیں دراصل یہ سرکش شیطان کے پکارنے والے ہیں آپ نے فرمایا شیطان اللہ کا نافرمان ہے، مخالف ہے، اس کی فرمابرداری سے تکبر کرنے والا ہے، اسی وجہ سے راندہ درگاہ ہوا ہے اگر تو نے بھی اس کی اطاعت کی تو وہ اپنی حالت پر تجھے بھی پہنچادے گا۔ ابا جان آپ کے اس شرک وعصیان کی وجہ سے مجھے تو خوف ہے کہ کہیں آپ پر اللہ کا کوئی عذاب نہ آجائے اور آپ شیطان کے دوست اور اس کے ساتھی نہ بن جائیں اور اللہ کی مدد اور اس کا ساتھ آپ سے چھوٹ نہ جائے۔ دیکھو شیطان خود بیکس بےبس ہے اس کی تابعداری آپ کو بری جگہ پہنچا دے گی۔ جیسے فرمان باری ہے۔ (تَاللّٰهِ لَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَآ اِلٰٓى اُمَمٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطٰنُ اَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ 63؀) 16۔ النحل :63) یعنی یہ یقینی اور قسمیہ بات ہے کہ تجھ سے پہلے کی امتوں کی طرف بھی ہم نے رسول بھیجے لیکن شیطان نے ان کی بداعمالیاں انہیں مزین کر کے دکھلائیں اور وہی ان کا ساتھی بن گیا لیکن کام کچھ نہ آیا اور قیامت کے دن عذاب الیم میں پھنس گئے۔
