Ayah Study

(They will be) hastening forward with necks outstretched, their heads raised up (towards the sky), their gaze returning not towards them and their hearts empty (from thinking because of extreme fear).

Hence, [only] he who follows me [in this my faith] is truly of me; and as for him who disobeys me – Thou art, verily, much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace!

(اور لوگ) سر اٹھائے ہوئے (میدان قیامت کی طرف) دوڑ رہے ہوں گے ان کی نگاہیں ان کی طرف لوٹ نہ سکیں گی اور ان کے دل (مارے خوف کے) ہوا ہو رہے ہوں گے

{ مُهْطِعِينَ } أي: مسرعين إلى إجابة الداعي حين يدعوهم إلى الحضور بين يدي الله للحساب لا امتناع لهم ولا محيص ولا ملجأ، { مُقْنِعِي رُءُوسِهِمْ } أي: رافعيها قد غُلَّتْ أيديهم إلى الأذقان، فارتفعت لذلك رءوسهم، { لَا يَرْتَدُّ إِلَيْهِمْ طَرْفُهُمْ وَأَفْئِدَتُهُمْ هَوَاءٌ } أي: أفئدتهم فارغة من قلوبهم قد صعدت إلى الحناجر لكنها مملوءة من كل هم وغم وحزن وقلق.

يوم يقوم الظالمون من قبورهم مسرعين لإجابة الداعي رافعي رؤوسهم لا يبصرون شيئًا لهول الموقف، وقلوبهم خالية ليس فيها شيء؛ لكثرة الخوف والوجل من هول ما ترى.

ثم ذكر تعالى كيفية قيامهم من قبورهم وعجلتهم إلى قيام المحشر فقال " مهطعين " أى مسرعين كما قال تعالى " مهطعين إلى الداع " الآية وقال تعالى " يومئذ يتبعون الداعي لا عوج له" - إلى قوله - "وعنت الوجوه للحي القيوم " وقال تعالى " يوم يخرجون من الأجداث سراعا " الآية وقوله " مقنعي رءوسهم " قال ابن عباس ومجاهد وغير واحد رافعي رءوسهم " لا يرتد إليهم طرفهم " أي أبصارهم ظاهرة شاخصة مديمون النظر لا يطرفون لحظة لكثرة ما هم فيه من الهول والفكرة المخافة لما يحل بهم عياذا بالله العظيم من ذلك ولهذا قال " وأفئدتهم هواء " أي وقلوبهم خاوية خالية ليس فيها شيء لكثرة الوجل والخوف ولهذا قال قتادة وجماعة إن أمكنة أفئدتهم خالية لأن القلوب لدى الحناجر قد خرجت من أماكنها من شدة الخوف وقال بعضهم هي خراب لا تعي شيئا لشدة ما أخبر به تعالى عنهم ثم قال تعالى لرسوله صلى الله تعالى عليه وعلى آله وسلم.

Allah gives Respite to the Disbelievers and is never unaware of what They do Allah says, `O Muhammad, do not think that Allah is unaware of what the unjust disbelievers do. Do not think because Allah gave them respite and delayed their punishment that He is unaware or ignoring punishing them for what they do. Rather, Allah keeps full account of this for them and keeps it on record against them, إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ الأَبْصَـرُ (but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror.) from the horror of the Day of Resurrection.' Allah next mentions how they will all be raised up from their graves and hurriedly gathered for the Day of Gathering, مُهْطِعِينَ (hastening forward), in a hurry. Allah said in other Ayat, مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ (Hastening towards the caller.) 54:8 يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَّبِعُونَ الدَّاعِىَ لاَ عِوَجَ لَهُ (On that Day mankind will follow strictly Allah's caller, no crookedness will they show him.) 20:108 until, وَعَنَتِ الْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَىِّ الْقَيُّومِ (And (all) faces shall be humbled before the Ever Living, the Sustainer.) 20:111 Allah said: another Ayah, يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الاٌّجْدَاثِ سِرَاعاً (The Day when they will come out of the graves quickly.) 70:43 Allah said next, مُقْنِعِى رُءُوسِهِمْ (with necks outstretched) meaning, raising their heads up, according to Ibn `Abbas, Mujahid and several others. Allah said next, لاَ يَرْتَدُّ إِلَيْهِمْ طَرْفُهُمْ (their gaze returning not towards them) meaning, their eyes are staring in confusion, trying not to blink because of the horror and tremendous insights they are experiencing, and fear of what is going to strike them, we seek refuge with Allah from this end. This is why Allah said, وَأَفْئِدَتُهُمْ هَوَآءٌ (and their hearts empty.) meaning, their hearts are empty due to extreme fear and fright. Qatadah and several others said that the places of their hearts are empty then, because the hearts will ascend to the throats due to extreme fear. Allah said next to His Messenger ,

ہولناک منظر ہوگا کوئی یہ نہ سمجھے کہ برائی کرنے والوں کی برائی کا اللہ کو علم ہی نہیں اس لئے یہ دنیا میں پھل پھول رہے ہیں، نہیں اللہ ایک ایک کے ایک ایک گھڑی کے برے بھلے اعمال سے بخوبی واقف ہے یہ ڈھیل خود اسکی دی ہوئی ہے کہ یا تو اس میں واپس ہوجائے یا پھر گناہوں میں بڑھ جائے یہاں تک کہ قیامت کا دن آجائے۔ جس دن کی ہولناکیاں آنکھیں پتھرا دیں گی، دیدے چڑھا دیں گی، سر اٹھائے پکارنے والے کی آواز کی طرف دوڑے چلے جائیں گے، کہیں ادھر ادھر نہ ہوں گے۔ سب کے سب پورے اطاعت گزار بن جائیں گے، دوڑے بھاگے حضور کی حاضری کیلئے بےتابانہ آئیں گے، آنکھیں نیچے کو نہ جھکیں گی، گھبراہٹ اور فکر کے مارے پلک سے پلک نہ جھپکے گی۔ دلوں کا یہ حال ہوگا کہ گویا اڑے جاتے ہیں۔ خالی پڑے ہیں۔ خوف کے سوا کوئی چیز نہیں۔ وہ حلقوم تک پہنچے ہوئے ہیں، اپنی جگہ سے ہٹے ہوئے ہیں، دہشت سے خراب ہو رہے ہیں۔
