Ayah Study

"So if you turn away, still I have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another people succeed you, and you will not harm Him in the least. Surely, my Lord is Guardian over all things."

Hence, O my people, ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins, and then turn towards Him in repentance – [whereupon] He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, and will add strength to your strength: only do not turn away [from me] as people lost in sin!

اگر تم روگردانی کرو گے تو جو پیغام میرے ہاتھ تمہاری طرف بھیجا گیا ہے، وہ میں نے تمہیں پہنچا دیا ہے۔ اور میرا پروردگار تمہاری جگہ اور لوگوں کو لابسائے گا۔ اور تم خدا کا کچھ بھی نقصان نہیں کرسکتے۔ میرا پروردگار تو ہر چیز پر نگہبان ہے

{ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا } عما دعوتكم إليه { فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ مَا أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ إِلَيْكُمْ } فلم يبق عليَّ تبعة من شأنكم. { وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّي قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ } يقومون بعبادته، ولا يشركون به شيئا، { وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُ شَيْئًا } فإن ضرركم، إنما يعود عليكم، فالله لا تضره معصية العاصين. ولا تنفعه طاعة المطيعين { من عمل صالحا فلنفسه ومن أساء فعليها } [ { إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَفِيظٌ } ].

فإن تُعرضوا عما أدعوكم إليه من توحيد الله وإخلاص العبادة له فقد أبلغتكم رسالة ربي إليكم، وقامت عليكم الحجة، وحيث لم تؤمنوا بالله فسيهلككم ويأتي بقوم آخرين يخلفونكم في دياركم وأموالكم، ويخلصون لله العبادة، ولا تضرونه شيئًا، إن ربي على كل شيء حفيظ، فهو الذي يحفظني من أن تنالوني بسوء.

يقول لهم هود فإن تولوا عما جئتكم به من عبادة الله ربكم وحده لا شريك له فقد قامت عليكم الحجة بإبلاغي إياكم رسالة الله التي بعثني بها "ويستخلف ربي قوما غيركم" يعبدونه وحده لا يشركون به ولا يبالي بكم فإنكم لا تضرونه بكفركم بل يعود وبال ذلك عليكم "إن ربي على كل شيء حفيظ" أي شاهد وحافظ لأقوال عباده وأفعالهم ويجزيهم عليها إن خيرا فخير وإن شرا فشر.

وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّى قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ (My Lord will make another people succeed you, ) This refers to a group of people who will worship Allah alone, without associating anything with Him. This also implies that the polytheists do not bother Allah and they do not harm Him in the least with their disbelief. To the contrary, their disbelief merely harms their own selves. إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌ (Surely, my Lord is Guardian over all things.) This means that Allah is a Witness and Guardian over the statements of His servants and their actions. He will give them due recompense for their actions. If they do good deeds, He will reward them with good. If they do evil, He will punish them with evil. The Destruction of the People of `Ad and the Salvation of Those among Them Who believed وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا (And when Our commandment came,) This is referring to the barren wind with which Allah destroyed them, to the very last of them. The mercy and kindness of Allah, the Exalted saved Hud and his followers from this terrible punishment. فوَتِلْكَ عَادٌ جَحَدُواْ بِآيَـتِ رَبِّهِمْ g(Such were `Ad (people). They rejected the Ayat of their Lord) This means they disbelieved in the proofs and revelations (of Allah) and they disobeyed the Messengers of Allah ﷺ. This is due to the fact that whoever disbelieves in a Prophet, then verily, he has disbelieved in all of the Prophets, peace be upon them. There is no difference between any one of them, in the sense that it is necessary to believe in all of them. Therefore, `Ad disbelieved in Hud and their disbelief was considered disbelief in all of the Messengers. وَاتَّبَعُواْ أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ (and followed the command of every proud, obstinate.) This means that they abandoned following their rightly guided Messenger and they followed the command of every proud, obstinate person. Thus, they were followed in this life by a curse from Allah and His believing servants whenever they are mentioned. On the Day of Resurrection a call will be made against them in front of witnesses. أَلا إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُواْ رَبَّهُمْ (Verily, `Ad disbelieved in their Lord.)

ہود ؑ کا قوم کو جواب حضرت ہود ؑ فرماتے ہیں کہ اپنا کام تو میں پورا کرچکا، اللہ کی رسالت تمہیں پہنچا چکا، اب اگر تم منہ موڑ لو اور نہ مانو تو تمہارا وبال تم پر ہی ہے نہ کہ مجھ پر۔ اللہ کو قدرت ہے کہ وہ تمہاری جگہ انہیں دے جو اس کی توحید کو مانیں اور صرف اسی کی عبادت کریں۔ اسے تمہاری کوئی پرواہ نہیں، تمہارا کفر اسے کوئی نقصان نہیں دینے کا بلکہ اس کا وبال تم پر ہی ہے۔ میرا رب بندوں پر شاہد ہے۔ ان کے اقوال افعال اس کی نگاہ میں ہیں۔ آخر ان پر اللہ تعالیٰ کا عذاب آگیا۔ خیر و برکت سے خالی، عذاب و سزا سے بھری ہوئی آندھیاں چلنے لگیں۔ اس وقت حضرت ہود ؑ اور آپ کی جماعت مسلمین اللہ کے فضل و کرم اور اس کے لطف و رحم سے نجات پا گئے۔ سزاؤں سے بچ گئے، سخت عذاب ان پر سے ہٹا لئے گئے۔ یہ تھے عادی جنہوں نے اللہ کے ساتھ کفر کیا، اللہ کے پیغمبروں کی مان کر نہ دی۔ یہ یاد رہے کہ ایک نبی کا نافرمان کل نبیوں کا نافرمان ہے۔ یہ انہیں کی مانتے رہے جو ان میں ضدی اور سرکش تھے۔ اللہ کی اور اس کے مومن بندوں کی لعنت ان پر برس پڑی۔ اس دنیا میں بھی ان کا ذکر لعنت سے ہونے لگا اور قیامت کے دن بھی میدان محشر میں سب کے سامنے ان پر اللہ کی لعنت ہوگی۔ اور پکار دیا جائے گا کہ عادی اللہ کے منکر ہیں۔ حضرت سدی کا قول ہے کہ ان کے بعد جتنے نبی آئے سب ان پر لعنت ہی کرتے آئے ان کی زبانی اللہ کی لعنتیں بھی ان پر ہوتی رہیں۔
