Full Sharh — Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 323
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: لَمْ يَكُنْ شَخْصٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: وَكَانُوا إِذَا رَأَوْهُ لَمْ يَقُومُوا، لِمَا يَعْلَمُونَ مِنْ كَرَاهَتِهِ لِذَلِكَ.
English Translation
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) said:: that there was no person dearer to them than Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace). He said: "Nevertheless, when they saw him they would refrain from standing, because they knew how he abhorred having people rise for him.”
