Full Sharh — Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 241
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: أَشْعَرُ كَلِمَةٍ تَكَلَّمَتْ بِهَا الْعَرَبُ كَلِمَةُ لَبِيدٍ: أَلا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلا اللَّهَ بَاطِلٌ.
English Translation
Abu Huraira said:: “As the Prophet said (Allah bless him and give him peace):‘The most poetic saying spoken by the Arabs is the saying of Labid: “Everything but Allah is surely futile!'”
