Full Sharh — Riyad as-Salihin 661
وعن أبي أمامة، رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "من صام يومًا في سبيل الله جعل الله بينه وبين النار خندقًا كما بين السماء والأرض" ((رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح)).
English Translation
Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who observes Saum (fasting) for a day in the Cause of Allah, Allah will keep his face from Hell-fire at a distance equivalent to that between heaven and the earth.".
