Full Sharh — Bulugh al-Maram 1445
وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: { مَا كُنْتُ لِأُقِيمَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ حَدًّا, فَيَمُوتُ, فَأَجِدُ فِي نَفْسِي, إِلَّا شَارِبَ الْخَمْرِ; فَإِنَّهُ لَوْ مَاتَ وَدَيْتُهُ } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْبُخَارِيُّ 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه البخاري ( 6778 ) وعنده: " صاحب خمر" بدل: " شارب خمر" وزاد: " وذلك أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لم يسنه".
English Translation
'Ali (RAA) narrated, 'I would not blame myself for the death of a man when I inflicted prescribed punishment on him, with the exception of one who drunk Khamr, for if he were to die, I would pay Diyah for him.'
