Full Sharh — Bulugh al-Maram 658
وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: { سَمِعْتُ اَلنَّبِيَّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -يَقُولُ: "لَا تُغَالُوا فِي اَلْكَفَنِ, فَإِنَّهُ يُسْلُبُ سَرِيعًا" } رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ 1 .1 - ضعيف. رواه أبو داود (3154).
English Translation
‘AIi (RAA) narrated, ‘l heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “Do not be extravagant in shrouding (i.e. do not spend too much money on them) for it will decay quickly.” Related by Abu Dawud.
