Full Sharh — Sunan an-Nasa'i 5162
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَشْهَبِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ بْنِ أَسْعَدَ بْنِ كَرِبٍ، - قَالَ وَكَانَ جَدُّهُ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَّهُ، رَأَى جَدَّهُ قَالَ أُصِيبَ أَنْفُهُ يَوْمَ الْكُلاَبِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ قَالَ فَاتَّخَذَ أَنْفًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ فَأَنْتَنَ عَلَيْهِ فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يَتَّخِذَهُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ .
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahman bin Tarafah, from 'Arafah bin As'ad bin Karib, who was his grandfather- saying that he saw his grandfather, and he said:"His nose had been cut off at the battle of Al-Kulab during the Jahiliyyah, so he wore a nose made of silver, but it began to rot on him, so the Prophet [SAW] told him to wear a nose made of gold
